Conference Objectives:

The conference aspires to represent the image of the Mediterranean region as a bridge between the North and the South, where cultures diverge and converge. This is part of the efforts to combat the attempts to reproduce colonial and neocolonial discourses that aim at economically, politically and culturally manipulating and controlling whole countries and regions. In this context, the mental image of the "other" as a phenomenon is influenced by the variables of clash, migration and trans-culturalism
